Osborne House is a former royal residence in East Cowes, Isle of Wight, United Kingdom and is listed as Grade 1 by English Heritage.

The house was built between 1845 and 1851 for Queen Victoria and Prince Albert as a summer home and rural retreat. Prince Albert designed the house himself in the style of an Italian Renaissance palazzo. The builder was Thomas Cubitt, the London architect and builder whose company built the main facade of Buckingham Palace for the royal couple in 1847.

English Heritage carried out a survey which revealed a structural issue with the corbels supporting the roof structure.

Constructed in brick and coated with concrete the corbels were being forced down by the expansion of a rusting iron bar embedded near the top of the corbel.

Historic England with whom Cintec have worked for years, approached Cintec for suggestions of a suitable economic solution with minimum intervention rather than having to take down and re-construct the corbels.

The Cintec corbel anchor was the natural choice along with the careful removal of all corroding metalwork within the corbel structures.
